Human trafficking really does happen! It is happening right now and it is happening in your town. Big cities, small towns, it does not matter, chances are there are young girls, men and woman being bought and sold in your town right now.

Every 10 seconds someone is bought and sold into slavery around the globe.
27 Million people are effected by human trafficking, withmore than half of these being children under 18.

Human trafficking has become the second fastest growing criminal enterprise after drugs. It is a $32 Billion dollar enterprise.

The Rachel Project (RP) was founded to recover and restore trafficked and exploited people. To partner with a growing abolitionist movement in our area and internationally.

The Rachel Project is dedicated to a long term approach and plan to combating human trafficking in our communities and across the globe through awareness, advocation and restoration.

AWARENESS: Speaking throughout the community to businesses, leaders, small groups and individuals to help educate people to the reality of these hideous truths. To raise awareness of the fact and to help to educate the people on what the signs are and what to do if you suspect human trafficking to be occurring.

ADVOCATE: Work with local lobbying groups to help create tougher legislation for the traffickers and better support and help networks for the victims.

RESTORATION: Develop a network of rescue an restore homes throughout the Tampa Bay Area for victims who are identified and rescued from trafficking situations by the local law enforcement and taskforce. Victims of human trafficking require specialized treatment and in some cases long term care to help heal the wounds that have been inflicted both mentally and physically. It is a long term process to bring full restoration to a victim. They need a safe place to live as many times traffickers will come looking for their "merchandise" and if minors are located returning them to negative situations only perpetuates the cycle. Many minors are trafficked by their own family members.

The Rachel Project is a 501(c)3 through Promised Provision International and is honored to partner with the Tampa Bay Taskforce Against Human Trafficking.
